Feasting Fox is a historic place in South St. Louis. The Owners of the venue are retiring and offering their equipment and several amazing antiques and collectibles for auction.Feasting Fox Farewell Message (Facebook/ Email)
In 1993, we took a leap of faith when we decided to bring this historic building back to life and preserve a precious piece of St. Louis. What began as a restoration project of the 1913 Anheuser-Busch Inn became an once-in-a-lifetime journey managing the Al Smith’s Feasting Fox Restaurant & Pub.
COVID-19 has impacted every aspect of life and taught us the important lesson of slowing down to enjoy each moment. With the support of family and friends, we’ve decided it’s time to close the Feasting Fox and begin the next chapter of our lives.
As we prepare this one of a kind building for it’s next chapter, we’ll be finding new homes for the restaurant items, antique décor, furniture and local St. Louis pieces that we’ve collected over 25+ years. We’re honored to have been a part of the history of this St. Louis landmark and excited to see what the future will hold for the building and it’s treasures.
To safely allow everyone to be a part of the sale, we’ll be hosting three online auctions. Starting today through September 9th, head over to “Feast Gretchen” on www.GRSAuctions.com to find treasures from across the Gretchen Banquet Hall. Check back later this month for our second and third auctions focused on kitchenware and then antiques and collectibles.
Finally, this journey has truly been a labor of love. Thank you to the Dutchtown Community, our outstanding staff, and loyal patrons for the memories and friendships that we’ve shared throughout the years. From the bottom of our hearts, we want to thank everyone for their love and support. We’ll miss seeing you around the restaurant, but excited to see what the future will hold for this loved building.
All the best,
Marty and Sue Luepker
